Since 2014, the SWC has partnered annually with KHQ and WorkSource to offer Spokane's largest Job Fair, held each May at the Spokane Convention Center. Employers who attend range across many industries, and job opportunities span from entry-level to professional. WorkSource offers prep sessions for both employers and job seekers to help all attendees have the best possible experience. We hope you'll join us!
More information will be available as the event draws near. Booth registration will open in April. Please check back for updates.
We are currently accepting event sponsorships from area businesses. Multiple sponsorship levels are available - email Jessica if you are interested: firstname.lastname@example.org.
"Interest in our open positions definitely increased after this event - thank you!"
"The event was great and I would recommend the KHQ Job Fair to anyone seeking employment."
"This was the best by far of the three job fairs I've attended this spring."
Although it can be challenging to track hires made as a result of job fairs, we know of 57 job offers that were made as a direct result of this event. In addition, one month after the event, 60% of employers surveyed indicated that they were still vetting promising candidates and may make more job offers.
This year, we offered premium booth placements to employers willing to pay an extra registration fee. These businesses also got to highlight their job openings on the Facebook event page, had their logos included in event materials, and had access to media opportunities. If you are interested in being a featured employer for a future event, ensure you are on our mailing list by emailing email@example.com
2018 Featured Employers: ACI Coatings, Assisted Residential Services, Atlas Staffing, Dave Smith Motors, Humanix, Kalispel Tribe Economic Authority, Manpower, Par Pacific/Zip Trip, Port of Morrow, Tire Rama, US Customs and Border Protection, Washington National Guard, and Washington State University.
This year we helped job seekers prepare for success by including company websites, job openings, minimum qualifications information, and more in a robust event booklet. This information was posted on the event website before the fair as well. We heard from job seekers that it greatly aided their ability to take advantage of employment opportunities at the event.
We were able to secure five billboards in the Spokane area to help get the word out ahead of this year's event. This type of marketing helps boost attendance numbers during a time when unemployment is low. Thanks to KHQ for media sponsorship and helping purchase the billboard space!
KHQ offered the opportunity for WorkSource Career Specialists to answer phones during the evening news. Anyone in the area could call in and get on-the-spot help with résumés, information about how to prep for the job fair, and other job search tips and tricks.
We introduced pre-registration for job seekers in 2018. We offered those who pre-registered pre-printed event name tags and the opporunity to provide us feedback about their experience. We hope to offer free event parking to pre-registered attendees next year. If your business is interested in sponsoring attendee parking, please contact Jessica: firstname.lastname@example.org.
"The service and accommodations were excellent. Thank you."
"We interviewed two candidates today and made both offers from the job fair. SUCCESS!"
"The best ever!"
